MPOWER Women in STEM Scholarship

Description

The MPOWER Women in STEM Scholarship is now accepting applications. You do not need to be an MPOWER borrower to apply. The program is designed for female international and DACA students who are studying or will study full-time in a STEM degree program at a U.S. or Canadian school supported by MPOWER. The grand prize is US$5,000. Two runners-up will receive US$2,000 and US$1,000, respectively. Only 32% of STEM degrees in the U.S. are awarded to women. In engineering and computer science, that number drops to 20%. MPOWER's CEO, Manu Smadja, emphasizes that meaningful representation of women shaping science and technology is critical for society. This scholarship is one way to level the playing field.
