Special Scholarship Program (SSP) at Kochi University of Technology

The Special Scholarship Program (SSP) at Kochi University of Technology (KUT), Japan, supports international students pursuing a three-year PhD program in engineering. The scholarship provides a monthly allowance of JPY 150,000 for three years, full exemption from entrance examination, admission and tuition fees, and, under certain conditions, JPY 150,000 for travel and initial living expenses. Applicants must obtain the approval of an SSP supervisor before submitting their formal application. The program is conducted in English, and proof of English proficiency may be required. For October 2027 admission, the next application deadline is April 9, 2027.
