FMI International PhD/MD-PhD Scholarship

Description

The FMI International PhD/MD-PhD Scholarship is a doctoral program of the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research (FMI) in Switzerland, aimed at highly motivated international researchers wishing to pursue a PhD or MD-PhD in biomedical sciences. The program offers an international and interdisciplinary research environment in fields such as neurobiology, cell biology, developmental biology, biophysics, structural biology, systems biology, bioinformatics and infectiology. Doctoral students receive remuneration in accordance with the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) salary guidelines, approximately 50,000 to 55,000 CHF gross per year according to the 2026 scale, paid in 12 monthly installments. The PhD at the FMI generally lasts four years. The working language is English. The program is intended for candidates holding a university degree allowing access to doctoral studies; a simple Bachelor's degree is not sufficient for admission to the PhD.
