Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) 2027–2028

Description

The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) is a prestigious government-funded programme designed to attract outstanding international students who wish to pursue a full-time PhD at one of the eight UGC-funded universities in Hong Kong. For the 2027–2028 academic year, 400 fellowships will be awarded. Each fellowship provides a monthly stipend of HK$28,700 (HK$344,400 per year) for up to three years, along with an annual conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$14,400. Applicants must also submit a full admission application directly to their chosen university. The scheme is open to candidates of all nationalities, and the initial application period runs from 1 September to 1 December 2026.
